Lake Bathurst Wind Farm is located in proximity to Goulburn and intends to connect into existing distribution lines. The site is highly suitable for wind generation given its elevation and distance away from dwellings and other key environmental constraints.
The development site is located in the Goulburn Mulwaree Council local government area. The site has an indicative footprint which covers around 800 hectares. The site has easy access via Braidwood Road.
The project is a State Significant Development under the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. The NSW Government will be the planning authority. Under this planning framework, a scoping report will be prepared, which is a summary of key environmental and social factors relevant to the project. The NSW Government will then release the secretary environmental assessment requirements, which specifies the technical assessments required by the Department to make an appropriate assessment of the project.
