Dawn Renewables Achieves Key Milestone with Planning Approval for 100MW Winton North Solar Farm

7 June 2023

Australian clean energy developer Dawn Renewables is pleased to announce a significant milestone in its renewable energy pipeline, having officially secured planning consent for the 100-megawatt (MW) Winton North Solar Farm.

The planning permit approval, granted on 7 June 2023, authorises the development of the solar energy generation development alongside essential powerlines and substation infrastructure required to connect clean power to the grid.

This major milestone further strengthens Dawn Renewables’ expanding portfolio of clean energy projects across the region. Once operational, the Winton North Solar Farm will play a vital role in supporting Australia’s transition away from fossil fuel reliance, whilst diving local economic growth through regional investment and job creation during both construction and operational phases.

“Securing planning approval for the Winton North Solar Farm marks an exciting step forward for Dawn Renewables,” said Tim Kirk, Director at Dawn Renewables. “This project reflects our commitment to accelerating the clean energy transition, delivering sustainable power to Australian communities and creating tangible economic benefits to the local region.”

Details of the planning permit (PA2000822) are publicly available via the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning’s Ministerial Permit Register here
