Winton North Solar Farm reaches Financial Close

The Winton North Solar Farm has reached Financial Close, with financing provided by Commerzbank AG, Singapore Branch and Societe Generale. At the same time, the Winton North battery has been added to the power purchase agreement with Amazon.

The Kayuga Solar Farm was one of nine successful NSW projects announced in the latest round of the Federal Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme.
Dawn has been developing this solar and battery hybrid project in the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone for the past few years.
That work is now continuing on development approvals and grid connection, in partnership with experienced large scale renewable energy developer European Energy.
Winton North Solar Farm secures offtake agreement with Amazone Web Services

The Winton North Solar Farm is part of a PPA to supply clean renewable energy to Amazon Web Services. The project will help lower carbon emissions in Australia and support Amazon’s commitment to enabling renewable energy.
Cobbora Solar Farm awarded Access Rights

Dawn Renewables has welcomed the NSW Government’s decision to award Access Rights for the Cobbora Solar Farm. This milestone clears the way for detailed design and construction of the first Renewable Energy Zone in NSW. The project will play a major role in supporting New South Wales’ transition to cleaner, more reliable energy.
Project in Bundaberg under development

We’re pleased to announce that we have started initial investigations into a potential 200-300 megawatt solar farm across a 600 hectare site 45 kilometers west of Bundaberg in Central Queensland.
We look forward to listening to views of the local community and Bundaberg Regional Council as our investigations and assessments progress.
Winton North Solar Farm acquired by European Energy

Large scale renewable energy company @EuropeanEnergy has acquired the development rights for our 100 megawatt Winton North Solar Farm and 200MWh battery project.
Dawn Renewables has been leading the development of this project across a 300-hectare site about 22 kilometers southwest of Wangaratta, near the Victorian and NSW border.
The project will connect with the existing electricity network and will generate enough clean renewable energy to power the equivalent of 40,000 homes.
It will generate up to 250 jobs during construction with the 200 MWh Battery project being able to store excess energy and then discharge that energy back into the grid during peak periods, or when it’s needed.
We will continue working with European Energy on the project as it moves into its expected construction phase over the next 12 months.
Pacific Partnerships partners with Dawn Renewables on Cobbora Solar Farm

Dawn Renewables has welcomed a major milestone for the 700MW Cobbora Solar Farm in New South Wales, with infrastructure investor Pacific Partnerships acquiring the development rights to the project and committing to its delivery.
Dawn Renewables has been developing the Cobbora Solar Farm project since 2021. It would help to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, help build energy reliance and support jobs and local businesses in the regions.
The site for this renewable energy project was slated for a coal mine, before the proposal was scrapped by the NSW Government. Fast forward a decade, and now it’s at the forefront of the development of NSW’s first Renewable Energy Zone.
Winton North Solar Farm Receives Planning Approval

Dawn Renewables has marked an important milestone for the 100 MW Winton North Solar Farm, with the project receiving its planning consent on the 7th of June 2023. The approval enables the development of a solar energy facility including the powerline and substation infrastructure.
This milestone strengthens Dawn Renewables’ growing portfolio of clean‑energy projects and supports regional investment, local employment opportunities, and the transition away from fossil‑fuel reliance.
