Dawn Renewables Congratulates European Energy on AWS Power Purchase Agreement for Winton North Solar Farm

15 June 2025

Australian clean energy developer Dawn Renewables extends its warmest congratulations to global developer European Energy on securing a major Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Amazon Web Services for the Winton North Solar Farm.

This agreement will deliver zero-emissions solar power directly to AWS’s operations, supporting Amazon’s commitment to power its business with 100% renewable energy. The Winton North Solar Farm plays a key role in accelerating Australia’s transition to clean power, significantly reducing regional carbon emissions while delivering sustainable energy to digital infrastructure.

Located across a 300-hectare site near the Victorian and New South Wales border, the Winton North Project combines 100 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity with an integrated 200MWh battery storage system. Dawn Renewables led early-stage development, environmental planning and grid connection arrangements for the project before partnering with global developer European Energy to take the project into construction and delivery.

“We are thrilled to see European Energy reach this significant milestone with AWS”, said Tim Kirk, Director at Dawn Renewables. “Having laid the groundwork for the Winton Solar Farm, we are proud to see this development mature into a project that delivers tangible, large-scale clean energy benefits to market leaders like AWS. We applaud European Energy for their execution and shared commitment to driving Australia’s renewable energy transition”.
