Kayuga Solar Farm Awarded Federal Capacity Investment Scheme Support to Accelerate Delivery

23 May 2026

Clean energy developer Dawn Renewables is celebrating a major milestone as the Kayuga Solar Farm secures underwriting support under the Australian Government’s competitive Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS).

Named as one of only nine successful NSW projects in the latest CIS round, the hybrid solar and battery storage asset was developed by Dawn Renewables within the strategic Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).

The CIS award provides key revenue underwriting that fuels the next phase of the project’s delivery, supporting Australia’s broader 2030 climate goals. Dawn Renewables continues to drive progress across final planning approvals and grid connection agreements.

“This CIS support is a tremendous vote of confidence in the site quality, strategic location and overall design of the Kayuga Solar Farm,” said Josh Heap, Senior Development Manager at Dawn Renewables. “Having laid the groundwork and progressing this project over several years, we are thrilled to see it achieve such significant recognition as we work towards delivering clean power to New South Wales.”
